I’m an English teacher and I’ve taught IGCSE English Literature classes for 8 years. Most of my students sit CAIE and Edexcel exams. In tutoring, we go beyond learning quotes and really unpack character, theme and context. I like working on poetry comparison questions and supporting students with structuring high-level essay responses and planning effective revision.

I tutor IGCSE English Literature online for students and the wider Gulf. I’ve helped students with a range of set texts, from Shakespeare to modern prose. Lessons usually involve close reading, building detailed paragraph plans and practising exam essays with clear introductions, topic sentences and conclusions, plus occasional short quizzes.

I studied English and Comparative Literature and now support IGCSE English Literature students alongside my role in academic support at an international school in Qatar. I’m especially keen on teaching drama texts and unseen poetry. Each session we pick apart one passage or poem in depth, then turn that into a full exam-style response, focusing on analysis rather than retelling the story in the answer.
